These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and the developer of Reddit Ad Remover ("we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the Reddit Ad Remover Chrome extension and any related backend services (collectively, the "Services").
Reddit Ad Remover is a Chrome extension that hides promoted, sponsored, and spam content on Reddit's feed and comment threads, with optional paid features (per-subreddit whitelist, custom keyword filtering, extra-clutter filters, a blocking-stats dashboard, and settings backup/restore).
By installing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Services.

Core ad/spam blocking is provided free of charge, requires no account, and runs entirely on your device. Premium features are optional, require an account, and are billed as a monthly subscription as described in section 6.
The Services are provided for personal, non-commercial use.
We own or license all intellectual property rights in the Services, including the extension's source code, design, and branding. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the extension for your own personal use. You may not copy, reverse engineer, decompile, resell, sublicense, or otherwise exploit the Services for any commercial purpose without our prior written permission.
By using the Services, you represent that: you meet Reddit's own minimum age requirement (13 years old) to use the platform this extension operates on; any account registration information you provide is accurate and kept up to date; you will not access the Services through automated or non-human means; and your use will not violate any applicable law.
Creating an account (email/password or Google Sign-In) is required only for Premium features. You're responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. We reserve the right to suspend an account if we determine, in good faith, that it was created with false or fraudulent information.
Premium is billed at $1.99 USD/month. Payment is processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. You agree to provide accurate billing information and authorize us (via Stripe) to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
Billing and renewal. Your Premium subscription automatically renews each month until canceled. There is no free trial.
Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from the extension's account panel via "Manage subscription," which opens Stripe's Billing Portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period: you keep Premium access until then, and your subscription will not renew afterward.
Refunds. Charges already processed are final; we do not offer prorated or retroactive refunds, except where required by law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at the email above.
Price changes. We may change the subscription price going forward; any change will be communicated before it applies to you.
You agree not to: use the Services for any purpose other than as intended; attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with the Premium gating or authentication mechanisms; reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the extension's source code beyond what applicable law permits; use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers against the extension or its backend; or resell, sublicense, or share your account/subscription with others.
The Services rely on the following third parties, each governed by their own terms and privacy policy: Firebase (Google) for authentication and data storage, Stripe for payment processing, and Google Sign-In for the optional Google account login. We are not responsible for the availability or practices of these third-party services.
We may change, update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, including adding, removing, or changing which features are Premium. Core ad/spam blocking will always remain free. We are not liable for any downtime, interruption, or loss resulting from maintenance, third-party outages (Firebase, Stripe, or Reddit itself), or changes to Reddit's own site that affect detection.
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Reddit may change its site structure at any time in ways that temporarily reduce detection accuracy; we do not guarantee the Services will catch every promoted, sponsored, or spam post. Ad/spam detection is provided on a best-effort basis.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the six (6) months before the claim arose.
These Terms remain in effect while you use the Services. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Services, cancel your subscription, and request account deletion at any time (see section 6 and PRIVACY.md).
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Québec, Canada.
We update these Terms only when necessary, such as when a feature, price, or legal requirement changes. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
